Love them or hate them – infographics are a powerful and visual method for amplifying, distilling and otherwise sharing a message. We do not see them as a replacement for long form content – but rather an accent to that content.

We use them to share the usage of social media by way of our social media archiving – quantity, volume, sources and trends.

Remember, info graphics are not just about big, colorful graphics – they can also be simply black and white sketches. See our favorite in the show notes from Carl Richards and @behaviorgap.

Likewise there are best practices for infographics – stick to consumable bits and broad themes. Think timelines, statistics and stories that can be understood and consumed in a quick review. We like also linking an infographic to a longer form narrative as an amplification.
