Social media took the main stage at this year’s Olympic Games in London. Truly the first major event where social drove news, scandal (or quasi-scandal), debate and celebration throughout each day. Facebook and Twitter have released compelling statistics reflecting the extraordinary participation before, during and after the games.

We find this a telling example of how you as a socially engaged business can take a national or international event or topic and deliver thought leadership to your own circles, customers, friends and followers.
